Where would be the most romantic place to have a man ask you to marry him? The top of the Eiffel Tower? On a Mediterranean beach at sunset? In a hot air balloon floating over rolling hills? Or how about at the scene of a car crash in the middle of winter on a German Autobahn?

That was the moment this eager young man chose to pop the question to his long-term girlfriend. The young couple were lucky to survive without any injuries when their car hit a large truck head-on. Given that they were stranded on the busy road in freezing conditions with a crumpled car, it was the kind of situation that would drive many couples to a major bust-up.

But rather than getting irate, this man was so grateful to be alive he dropped to his knees and uttered those immortal words.
